Blackberry, ‘Prime-Ark® Traveler’

Plant is thornless with vigorous, upright growth habit that makes for easier trellising and fruit harvest.

Fruits are glossy with juicy, high-quality flavor. Firm fruit holds up well compared to other blackberries; best for eating fresh, using in recipes, and offering at farmers' markets. Taste is delightfully sweet and sub-acid.

Introduced in 2015 from the University of Arkansas fruit-breeding program. First-year canes begin ripening in mid-July, while second-year canes bear heaviest crops in June. Continues to fruit until frost. Everbearing primocane.

‘Prime-Ark® Traveler’ is the world’s first commercial, shipping quality, thornless and primocane-fruiting blackberry cultivar. The primocane-fruiting attribute defines the plant as having fruit production on current-season canes.
